es el c\u00e1ncer m\u00e1s com\u00fan en mujeres, seguido del <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sanalala.es\/en\/cancer-de-colon-sintomas-y-deteccion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>c\u00e1ncer de colon<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">Sin embargo, mientras la detecci\u00f3n temprana y las mejoras en el tratamiento han reducido la tasa de mortalidad de manera notable, no ha sucedido as\u00ed con el n\u00famero de casos, que no se ha visto reducido en los \u00faltimos 20 a\u00f1os. De ah\u00ed la importancia de establecer una adecuada estrategia de prevenci\u00f3n que permita reducir los nuevos casos de c\u00e1ncer de mama.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">El aumento de los niveles de <strong>vitamina D<\/strong> en mujeres posmenop\u00e1usicas podr\u00eda incluirse dentro de las estrategias encaminadas a reducir el n\u00famero de casos de c\u00e1ncer de mama, como se\u00f1ala un <a href=\"http:\/\/journals.plos.org\/plosone\/article?id=10.1371\/journal.pone.0199265\"><span style=\"color: #0066b3;\"><b>nuevo estudio recientemente publicado en PLOS One<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\" lang=\"zxx\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Alimentos_ricos_en_vitamina_D\"><\/span>Alimentos ricos en vitamina D<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">Hay dos formas de vitamina D que son importantes para los humanos, el ergocalciferol (<strong>vitamina D2<\/strong>)\u00a0 y el colecalciferol (<strong>vitamina D3<\/strong>). Mientras que la primera forma es producida por las plantas, el colecalciferol se produce naturalmente en la piel gracias a la <strong>radiaci\u00f3n ultravioleta<\/strong> de la luz solar.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sanalala.es\/en\/vitaminas-sus-funciones-y-en-que-alimentos-encontrarlas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>vitamina D<\/strong><\/span><\/a> es esencial para la correcta <strong>calcificaci\u00f3n de los huesos<\/strong>, adem\u00e1s de otras muchas funciones a nivel hormonal.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">La vitamina D no aparece de forma elevada en casi ning\u00fan alimento. De ah\u00ed que se trate de una vitamina carencial para grandes sectores de la poblaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">Entre las escasas <strong>fuentes diet\u00e9ticas de vitamina D<\/strong> se cuenta el pescado graso (especialmente, el aceite de h\u00edgado de pescado) y en menor medida, las v\u00edsceras, l\u00e1cteos y huevos.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">Tambi\u00e9n se han encontrado altos niveles de vitamina D en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sanalala.es\/en\/falta-vitamina-d-champinones-sol\/\"><strong>setas expuestas al sol<\/strong><\/a> o irradiadas con rayos UVA.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\" lang=\"zxx\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Estudios_sobre_salud_y_vitamina_D\"><\/span>Estudios sobre salud y vitamina D<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">Muchos estudios han pretendido estudiar la relaci\u00f3n entre la vitamina D y la salud, en ocasiones con limitaciones destacables. Por ejemplo, los estudios diet\u00e9ticos en ocasiones no tienen en cuenta la vitamina D producida en la piel por la exposici\u00f3n a la luz del sol.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">En otros estudios, es posible que las personas con un consumo m\u00e1s elevado de vitamina D o concentraciones m\u00e1s altas de vitamina D en sangre, tambi\u00e9n presenten otras conductas saludables que puedan interferir de manera significativa en su estado de salud.<\/p>\n<h3 lang=\"zxx\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cancer_de_mama_y_vitamina_D\"><\/span>C\u00e1ncer de mama y vitamina D<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">Un <a href=\"http:\/\/journals.plos.org\/plosone\/article?id=10.1371\/journal.pone.0199265\"><span style=\"color: #0066b3;\"><b>reciente estudio<\/b><\/span><\/a> aparecido en la revista <strong>PLOS One<\/strong>, llevado a cabo por un equipo investigador de California, EEUU, se\u00f1ala la relaci\u00f3n entre los niveles de vitamina D y el riesgo de c\u00e1ncer de mama en <strong>mujeres posmenop\u00e1usicas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">En el estudio se incluyeron los datos de 3 estudios previos (2 estudios cl\u00ednicos y un estudio de cohortes). En total incluyeron a cerca de 5.000 mujeres de edad superior a los 55 a\u00f1os con un\u00a0seguimiento de 4 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">Para evaluar la <strong>vitamina D<\/strong> en las participantes se midieron los niveles en sangre de <strong>25-hidroxivitamina-D<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">Los resultados se\u00f1alaron que en las mujeres que presentaban unos niveles de vitamina D iguales o superiores a 60 ng\/ml el riesgo de desarrollar c\u00e1ncer de mama era un <strong>80 % menor<\/strong> que en las mujeres con niveles por debajo de 20 ng\/dl. Por los posibles sesgos, se tuvieron en cuenta factores como la edad, el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sanalala.es\/en\/imc-obesidad-salud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">IMC<\/span><\/strong><\/a>, el tabaquismo y la <strong>suplementaci\u00f3n con calcio<\/strong>, entre otros.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">Estos resultados inciden en el debate abierto sobre la necesidad de aumentar los niveles de vitamina D en mujeres posmenop\u00e1usicas con el fin de prevenir los casos de c\u00e1ncer de mama.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"western\" lang=\"zxx\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mecanismos_de_la_vitamina_D_en_la_prevencion_del_cancer_de_mama\"><\/span>Mecanismos de la vitamina D en la prevenci\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer de mama<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">La vitamina D puede jugar diferentes papeles en la prevenci\u00f3n del desarrollo del c\u00e1ncer de mama y su progresi\u00f3n. Algunas de las hip\u00f3tesis a nivel molecular se\u00f1alan que la vitamina D enlaza con su receptor en el epitelio mamario, regulando el ciclo celular. Tambi\u00e9n puede proteger las c\u00e9lulas del da\u00f1o gen\u00e9tico, activando el sistema inmunitario y reduciendo la inflamaci\u00f3n. En general, actuar\u00eda reduciendo la posibilidad de transformaciones cancer\u00edgenas y activando mecanismos de supresi\u00f3n del crecimiento de tumores cuando estos ya hubieran aparecido.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\" lang=\"zxx\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Recomendaciones_de_ingesta_de_vitamina_D\"><\/span>Recomendaciones de ingesta de vitamina D<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">Los valores diet\u00e9ticos de referencia para la vitamina D establecidos por la Autoridad Europea de Seguridad Alimentaria (EFSA) para ni\u00f1os de 1 a 18 a\u00f1os, adultos, mujeres embarazadas y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sanalala.es\/en\/lactancia-materna-derecho-a-decidir-o-ley-universal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>mujeres lactantes<\/strong><\/span><\/a> es de 15 microgramos al d\u00eda. Para ni\u00f1os hasta 12 meses, 10 \u00b5g.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"zxx\">Estos valores tienen en cuenta una m\u00ednima s\u00edntesis cut\u00e1nea de vitamina D derivada de la exposici\u00f3n al
